Prompt: Compare and contrast yourself to either Scout or Jem at their age. Compare and contrast your summer activities, friends, relationships with your dad, siblings, and adults.
I think when I was twelve I was a lot like Jem. I think in some ways I did embody Scout, in ways such as being a tomboy and hating most of my relatives, but overall I think I am a lot like Jem. I am an older sibling, a lot like my dad, and have a annoying younger sister. But I think the similarities are a lot more then just that. When I first read To Kill A Mockingbird a few years ago when I was 11 I identified with Jem and now I still do.
When I was twelve I was always looking after my little sister. We don't have such a big difference in ages like Jem and Scout but I still have always been a sort of playmate/parent to my sister. Although I don't think I ever really played with her and another kid her age like Jem does with Dill and Scout. I also tended to act older and seem mature in front of my parents. Jem always seems mature, composed, and knowledgeable in front of his dad and I was and still am the same way. Jem always seemed full of wisdom and a tiny bit of a know-it-all. He always seemed to have all of the knowledge in the world. I was like that when I was twelve and pride myself in knowing a lot now.
But Jem can still be a kid when he wants to be. I was not really mature and and knowledgeable all the time. I still played around and act like a kid, just less in front of adults. When I was twelve, like Jem, I liked football. I still do. Although I don't play I still like football and watch every possible game I can during football season. Overall, when I was twelve I was a lot like Jem in multiple ways and I still am today.

Interesting you compared yourself to a male character. It's interesting how you take pride in the fact your like Jem's know it out side.
