Journal #5
Chapters: 13-15
Perspective: Scout
Dear Journal,
Dill's back! He had acquired 13 dollars and bought a train ticket. (He told us that he got it from his mom's purse.) He then walked/ rode on the back of a cotton wagon and hid under my bed. He said his mom and new dad didn't give him enough attention. Jem has to snitch and goes to tell Atticus. Atticus, instead of sending him home, fed him and went to tell his Aunt Rachel where he was. But Dill came back for the rest of summer and it seemed normal. Well almost. There was still Aunt Alexandra who was here because I needed a "feminine influence". But Dill being here compensates for her. At first I thought he was a snake or something but it is great that he is here. We are already up in the treehouse planning was to extract Boo Radley from his house.
But Atticus left the house and Jem got a case of the "look arounds". Or at least that is what Calpurnia calls them. All boys Jem's age have a preoccupation with doing stuff like sneaking out and discovering things. So Me, Jem, and Dill at went down to see where Atticus was. He was sitting in front of the jail. Just reading the paper. But then Walter Cunningham's dad and a bunch of other men got out of a car and started talking to Atticus about where Heck Tate was. Then I ran out towards Atticus and Jem and Dill followed. Atticus said to go home but we stayed. Atticus kept tryin to send us away but then I said hi to Walter's dad. I told him I liked Walter and then told his dad to say hey to him when he got back home. The I started tellin him about entailment's and everyone looked all weird and shocked. But they didn't look antagonized anymore. So I stopped. But then Walter's dad told me he would say hey and then all of them left. And then the weirdest thing was when I thought Atticus was gonna yell at Jem for everything on the way back he just seemed happy. Something weird went on.

Wow Noah, I disagree, I think Tom Boys think much like "girly" girls. I like how you made Scout aware of what was going on, but she's still unaware of exactly what.
