Writing Repsonse

Pretend you have "special powers" and can put yourself in the story. Where would you put yourself and why? How would you be there and change the story?

I think I would put myself in the book as one of the maids Skeeter is interviewing. I think I would help her with her goal of telling black women story's and I think I would want to share. I would tell her everything in hope that one day everything would be over and done with. Everyone would live together and I would do whatever it took (telling my story to Skeeter) to make it happen.

When you are a maid to a family like a lot of the ones who live in Jacksonville you basically raise the family's child. It gets to a point when they are two or three and they think that the maid is their mama and the white women is just someone in the house. With little children they don't care what color your skin is but if you love them and care for them then you are their mama. Even though all the maids were black and a huge minority they raised children and I would love to be there for some child who's mama isn't ever there. If I told this to Skeeter that would be a great satisfaction.
