What character do you like most in this book and/or what character do you like least? Why?

I think the character I like most in this book is Minny. She is a maid( a.k.a. the help, hence the title) and she has a reputation in her small town in Mississippi. And it's not really all that great of a reputation. She "can cook like it's nobodies business" but she has a mouth on her. She doesn't believe in the way she is being treated fairly just because she is colored. She has lost so many jobs because she speaks out and doesn't want to just be a wallflower and do what she is told to do. She has a great personality though and she really wants to prevent losing another job. She cares about everything she does.

Which character would you like to be like? In what way? Why?

If I lived in this time period then I would like to be Skeeter. She is tall, skinny, and very motivated. Her maid, Constantine, practically raised her and Skeeter has more love for her then her own mother. Constantine taught her that she didn't have to view the world in the way others told her and said that she could stand up for herself and form her own views. Skeeter is a white women but she isn't stuck up like everyone she is always around. She thinks abut her maids feelings and really cares about them. She also will never take no as an answer. She went to college for four years and now has a degree in journalism and wants a writing job. But they don't give good positions for women even though she is determined to get one. She can think for herself and is independent.
