Dear Journal,

When school got out 2 months ago we felt like everything we had worked for that year had payed off and for that we were free for 3 whole months. Dill showed up a few days after school got out for us. He told us all sorts of lies but that was okay because he said he met his dad and told all sorts of big ones and it felt like we could pick up where we left off last summer. But we quickly realized that wasn't going to be the case. Every thing me and Dill wanted to act out Scout didn't want to do with us. Everything Scout wanted to do was lame. She is becoming such a girl. Finally when I suggested my genus idea to act out Boo Radley she chickened out. He is dead and so it shouldn't matter but for some reason she is still scared of him. I don't know why. But anyway Dill thought it was a good idea and so that's what we did for the start of summer. As the summer progressed we got much better. We got Scout to play a few smaller parts but she is such a girl.

After a while we just started to kick her out. Me and Dill thought up tons of stuff to get Boo Radley to come out after Atticus told us he wasn't dead. Dill thought up all of these crazy thoughts and ways to make him come out of that old house and I would think of what we had to do to make it happen. Sometimes Scout seemed interested but she got scared too easily and she was such a girl we just kicked her out of the treehouse. We came up with all sorts things to bring him out of hiding but after after a lot of thinking, about halfway through the summer, we came up with our best one. We decided we were going to leave a note on his back window.

We thought it was genus but on the day we were about to go and leave the note on his windowsill using a fishing pole Scout showed up. She said she was sick of us kicking her out and pushing her away all summer. She told us she would tell Atticus if we didn't let her join us so we had to let her tag along. We had to use the fishing pole because no one was brave enough to go up to the house. I mean sure I had touched to house last year but this is different. We were leaving something there. But the note wouldn't come off the fishing pole and onto the windowsill. But then Atticus saw us. And this our marvelous plan was ruined. But we will get him out. We will see Boo Radley.
